You can then get rid of the FL demo and just keep the ASIO driver to use it in Ableton. I just thought : The drivers proposed by the manufacturer will be better. While youre waiting, install FL Studio demo, it comes with its own ASIO driver similar to ASIO4All but it doesnt require exclusive access to the audio driver. Asio4All is a sound driver, or in other words, it is the platform that FL Studio uses to produce sound from your computer. It uses WDM Kernel-Streaming and sometimes even more sophisticated methods to achieve its objectives. macOS - You can adjust the Buffer length direct from the interface as shown below. You should see the FL Studio ASIO control panel. And until then, I had the "generic" driver from Windows working perfectly. ASIO4ALL is a hardware independent low latency ASIO driver for WDM audio devices. Windows - Click the Show ASIO panel button to open the audio device driver Buffer Size (latency) settings. I had a bad experience with an USB dongle once, the "official" driver was trash, the installer messed up my Windows install at the time. I want to squeeze the most out of Resolve, but only if the benefices are greater than the risks/usefulness. I ask because downloading an old driver (2019) for my device from a website hosted in China is something I would prefer not to do, because of my past experience. Last question, are asio4all and FL asio still better than nothing? Or not at all? (asio4all doesn't work for me anyway, I just hear blank. To get the full performance benefits you need to download and install the asio driver for your device from the manufacturer. They are wrappers that allow other types of driver such as wdm to emulate asio drivers. ![]() ![]() ![]() Bruceqld wrote:FL asio and asio4all are not true asio drivers.
